ANTHERA EMPLOYEE KEIKO MITSUNOBU FINISHES HONOLULU MARATHON IN SUCCESSFUL EFFORT TO RAISE MONEY FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL OAKLAND RESEARCH INSTITUTE

San Mateo‚ CA – December 10‚ 2006 – After months of hard training, combined with an extraordinary personal effort to raise money for Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute (CHORI), Keiko Mitsunobu, Senior Director of Business Development at Anthera Pharmaceuticals, finished the Honolulu marathon in just over four hours. Nearly 70,000 people showed for the 34th Annual Honolulu Marathon. Thanks to the generosity of Anthera’s investors, directors, employees, and key consultants, $5,200 will be donated to CHORI to support research efforts in areas such as sickle cell and other childhood diseases. “We are all proud of what Keiko has accomplished for both Children’s Hospital Oakland and herself”, stated Paul F. Truex, President and CEO of Anthera Pharmaceuticals. “We hope Keiko’s efforts will serve as a benchmark for other companies and individuals to support research in under-funded areas such as this.”
